A Wisconsin native, McCoy has most recently served as chief of staff to the senior vice president of operations at Canadian Tire in Toronto, Canada. Prior to that, she held a variety of leadership roles with Target Corp. and Target Canada.
“I grew up in the Coulee Region of Wisconsin and have long wanted to return to the area. The opportunity to join such a prestigious university in this capacity exceeded my expectations,” McCoy says.
McCoy earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, as well as her MBA in entrepreneurship and marketing, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Schmidt says given McCoy’s outstanding leadership experience and educational background, he expects she will have an immediate impact with the help of the excellent team at UW-Eau Claire.
“I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the university community and exploring the Eau Claire region,” McCoy says.
McCoy also will serve as as executive director of planning. In her roles McCoy will directly support the chancellor and serve as the primary liaison with the university community on strategic and operational matters.
